Autumnal Cakes and Halloween Cookies

We were at Konditor and cook for a bit of Halloween baking fun. They had prepared these Zombie Spice Girls gingerbread cookies as an inspiration for us to create some fun designs.

Spoiler: It’s not easy to decorate with icing, but we gave it a go.

In the Halloween theme, zombies seemed like a cute one to make. This one was done by the chef and his very deft hands. Just a continuous swirl of white icing, quite a thick icing tube and random squiggles created this cute little fella. A blob of orange and a tiny dot of blue for the eyes. It worked quite well.

Next to that was my attempt at a blond girl zombie. As you can see the icing is a bit watery which made creating clean lines a bit impossible. I think a lot more practice is in order.

What’s new for autumn? They have the most addictive Sticky Toffee Cake, dressed up as a spider web. Of you might like their vegan Chocolate Banana Cake. Don’t forget the trendy Pumpkin spice, here it’s a cheesecake. To top it all off, they have rich and gooey Fig and Whisky Brownies.
