Shoryu Gudetama Eggy Pop Up
If you are not a fan of Hello Kitty, you might never have heard of her new BFF, Gudetama the lazy egg.
The character was created by a crowd sourced idea from the Hello Kitty fanclub, Gudetama was actually the second choice for a new character, losing out to a piece of salmon. It’s a good thing that Sanrio decided to create a range of merch for Gudetama the lazy egg too as it has now surpassed the salmon in popularity. This was much in evidence when we went to check out the Shoryu Gudetama pop up.
We were the only people not in costume or have any sort of Hello Kitty/Gudetama merch on us. It felt a bit like being in a mini cosplay convention.
Anyway, we were there for the ramen. Shoryu is offering a special Gudetama menu, 3 course for £20 which also gives you a branded beaker and coaster.
On the menu is a bao, a bowl of ramen and an ice cream mochi for dessert. While there, you can take a selfie and post it on social media for a chance to win some prizes.
If you want to catch this pop up, you need to be quick as it’s only on for 2 weeks. It is booking up really quick. Head down to the Oxford street branch in London for your own Gudetama experience.
