Jam Tree Rum Festival
What can be more fun on a sunny weekend in London? An alfresco lunch in a sunny terrace, free flowing Rum Cocktails and BBQ. The holiday atmosphere is amplified by the sounds of a Caribbean Steel band.
The Jam Tree Pub is hosting a Rum Festival for the month of July. If Rum is your poison, you’re in for a treat. On the cards are Rum Tastings, with over 38 rums on offer.
There will be Rum and Salsa nights, a taste of Cuba without that transatlantic flight.
We enjoyed a sunny afternoon on the terrace of the Jam Tree in Clapham Old Town. The extensive Rum Cocktail list had such delights as the Sailor Jerry, Jerry Can Cocktail which came in its own jerry can. We decided unanimously that this was the best cocktail on the menu.
Just in case you were wondering, the other cocktails we liked were the Mount Gay Punch Bowl, the lethal Zombies and the very fruity and tropical Ray of Sunshine. All the better when served by the very happy and cheerful staff.

The Rum Festival BBQ menu had such delights as a Jerk Chicken Salad, fall off the bone BBQ Ribs, jackfruit tacos, grilled prawns a fab fried okra with a tamarind dip.

We were graced with the sun and all around us, big groups were celebrating birthdays and hen parties. There is a very happy buzz.
If you are stuck for things to do in London on a weekend, head down here for a bit of BBQ and Rum cocktails.
The Jam Tree Rum Festival goes on until the end of July and will culminate with a Caribbean Supperclub paired with a selection of Rum based drinks. You can see all the Rum Festival events on their website.
