2.4 million children will go hungry in the UK this winter without help from the government

I don’t write about politics on this site but this issue of children going hungry in the UK needs highlighting. On Wednesday 21 October 2020, the MPs in the House of Commons voted 322 to 261 to not fund free meals for 2.4 million children across the country. This is the most disgusting act and lack of humanity seen in a government. In times of dire need, they are spending money on fruitless endeavours like awarding multi-million contracts to basically shell companies owned by their cronies for producing PPE and organising Track and Trace.

The number of children going hungry in this country is shocking. We have the highest number of children in poverty in Europe. 

Here are all the MP’s who voted against feeding hungry children in this economic and health crisis.

There are so many places offering cooked lunches, packed lunches, eating in, food boxes, etc. Some are also offering to feed the parents too and all of them have specified that there will be no judgement and no questions asked.
