Leadenhall Market London Harry Potter film location Diagon Alley

Leadenhall Market on Gracechurch Street in the City is an architectural gem has been a market since the 14thCentury. It is built on a site that was the centre of Roman London. The current ornate wrought iron structure is the work of a Victorian Architect who also designed Smithfield and Billingsgate Market. It is a popular spot in the City for lunch with numerous restaurants and pubs. Try the fish and chips at Chamberlains.

Today it is better known as one of the Harry Potter London locations. Harry Potter fan tours can be seen clutching their location maps in search of the entrance to Diagon Alley and the Leaky Cauldron (an optician’s shop on Bull’s Head Passage), as seen in the Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.
