Being a mixologist has never been on the top of my list of potential slashie personas. I do quite like to tinker with recipes. Celebrity Cruises sent me some of the ingredients to make this cocktail for their #ATasteofTravel campaign. Here is what it looks like:
Gin Mare is a unique Spanish gin made in a small fishing village on the Costa Dorada. It’s a “Mediterranean” gin made with infused with local ingredients. The distinct flavour come from 4 botanicals, Basil, Thyme, Rosemary and the Arbequina olive which imparts a savoury undertone. The botanical flavours are just a hint in the background and not so strong that it’s overpowering.
The result is a very citrussy, fresh tall drink which is a tiny bit sweet from the tonic and the marmalade. The verdict from my friends who tried it was that it was very drinkable as it was a bit like a soft drink. Try the recipe, it will make a nice change from the regular Gin and Tonic.
