Triple Orange Gin Mare Cocktail #ATasteofTravel
Being a mixologist has is not one of my skills but I am always up for learning. I do quite like to tinker with recipes, including cocktails recipes.
Celebrity Cruises sent me some of the ingredients including premium gin, Gin Mare, to make this cocktail for their #ATasteofTravel campaign.
This cocktail uses oranges in 3 different ways, orange marmalade, orange bitters and fresh orange. It is a perfect, refreshing cocktail for the summer.
Here is what it looks like:
Gin Mare is a unique Spanish gin made in a small fishing village on the Costa Dorada. It’s a “Mediterranean” gin made infused with local ingredients. The distinct flavour comes from 4 botanicals, Basil, Thyme, Rosemary and the Arbequina olive which imparts a savoury undertone. The botanical flavours are just a hint in the background and not so strong that it’s overpowering.
The result is a very citrussy, fresh tall drink which is a tiny bit sweet from the tonic and the marmalade. The verdict from my friends who tried it was that it was very drinkable as it was a bit like a soft drink. Try the recipe, it will make a nice change from the regular Gin and Tonic.
